When I was young, my grandparents traced my grandmother's family lineage to Fowey, a small coastal town in Cornwall. In 1992, they made a pilgrimage there, even visiting the private "castle" connected to our family's history. They raved about that trip for my entire life. After my grandfather passed away earlier this year, I decided to make my own pilgrimage to Cornwall (specifically to Fowey) to retrace their footsteps, and even recreate a few images they took 32 years ago! The resulting series explores both the beauty of Cornwall and the emotion of finally setting foot in a place I'd spent a lifetime hearing about.
